Ahhh, there’s nothing like a good thrift shop to make the world rosy-colored again. For my birthday recently, I took the day off work and indulged in a good, old-fashioned (literally!) thrifting trip. Due to icy roads and freezing rain, I didn’t get as far as I’d hoped but did manage to fit in a little fun.
If you’re a thrifter, how do you strategize your trip? Do you map every shop out while carefully including the open hours and addresses? Do a drive-by of your regular haunts? Or completely wing it and drive around until you find something new?
It’s interesting how people thrift and how they organize their time while doing so.
Since I had a limited amount of that I hit only two shops: one was a church thrift store and the other was a Habitat for Humanity shop. I found a few very cute vintage clothing/accessory items (one I’m saving for a new video series based on dressing book characters–more to come on that later!), and some great new thrillers, too.
Would love to know what you’re reading currently and what you like to look for at thrift shops. Please leave a comment and let me know.
